Moorhead, Minnesota

Moorhead is a city in Clay County, Minnesota. The population was 32,177 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Clay County.

Moorhead was first settled in 1871, with the building of the Northern Pacific Railroad. It was incorporated as a village February 25, 1875, and as a city February 24, 1881.

I remember fondly the Tree Top as my husband and i enjoyed many a fine meal there while visiting from Winnipeg. It was indeed a marvellous view of the cities in 1976

The President of the investor group was Martin B Johnson a Moorhead Businessman. The hotel was named after Mr. Johnson's son Frederick Martin who was 4 years old at the opening of the hotel.

Did the dirty bird have a mezzanine floor? I remember coming to dirty bird from Canada about 1973 or 74 and having a few drinks overlooking people sitting below and a dance floor.
